During practice for the Italian Grand Prix in 1955, held on the fast Monza racetrack. Mercedes tested different solutions of front bodywork on their short-wheelbase streamliner. But for the race, this car was not used and thus none of the experimental noses were employed. Juan Manuel Fangio won the race in the long-wheelbase W 196 streamliner. Motorsport Classic Poster.
