Jackie Oliver In His Brm P153, Spanish Grand Prix 1970 Jarama

1970 - 1974

Drame came to the Spanish Grand Prix in 1970 during the first lap. With both cars full of fuel, Jackie Oliver´s BRM (pictured) broke a stub axle on the second corner and chrashed into the side of Jacky Ickx´s Ferrari and the cars instantly burst into flames. Luckily both of the drivers got out and the race continued while the wrecks burnt out at the side of the track.
